Obama: 'Rather Be Really Good One-Term President'

President Obama, buffeted by criticism of his massive health care reform bill and election setbacks, said today he remained determined to tackle health care and other big problems despite the political dangers to his presidency.

"I'd rather be a really good one-term president than a mediocre two-term president," he told ABC's "World News" anchor Diane Sawyer in an exclusive interview today.

Obama sat down with Sawyer two days before he will deliver a State of the Union speech to a joint session of Congress, and he acknowledged the political setbacks of his first year in office.

The State of the Union will be Obama's chance to jump start his agenda, but he ducked when Sawyer asked if he could guarantee there would not be a tax increase for anyone making less than $250,000.

"I can guarantee that the worst thing we could do would be to raise taxes when the economy is still this weak," he replied.

For all of his supposed intelligence, he apparently doesn't see how illogical this is. If the majority judge him to be a good President, he will be re-elected.

Subconsciously, perhaps, he's acknowledging that his definition of "good" is different than the majority of the population. His priorities are different than those who elected him, and despite realizing that, he's plowing forward with his own agenda anyhow.

He just came out and told us that he plans to do whatever he wants, and try to force through as much as he can (be a "good" president) before his single term is up.

Honestly, when was the last time you heard of a president talking about NOT having a second term after being in office only a year?

He is reading the writing on the wall, and knows that he needs to push as much socialist garbage through as possible in his first term, because he KNOWS he won't get a second.

What I love about the mental midget in the White House and the equally challenged legal ability of the Attorney General is that their public guarantee that KSM will be convicted and executed guarantees that the defense counsel will ask the judge for a dismissal because the president and the AG tainted the jury pool and a fair trial as guaranteed under the unconstitution was impossible or the defense will have ANY CONVICTION OVERTURNED on appeal based on the same premises and he'll win.

This may be the first time in American history that both the President and the Attorney General are legally brain dead before the law.

In addition the crack jurists that they are came to the conclusion that KSM attacked civilians so he should be tried in civilian courts not military courts. KSM attacked the WTC, the Pentagon and public space in Pennsylvania. What's Obama going to do the next time there is an attack on one of our airlines ... call the police chief of where ever he thinks the plane will fall. He's deemed it a civilian matter but sends in the military to go after the airlines.

Perhaps in accordance with the demands of the President's Saudi benefactors and patrons both Obama and Holder want a mistrial for KSM. Maybe the Saudis want the Sheik back on hollowed ground.

Can anyone honestly say there has ever been a good Democratic President. I mean really, Clinton, Carter, Johnson, Truman, and FDR. Even JFK really didn't do anything of consequence, other than becoming a martyr.
