Yes, it's that topic again. I have always that gut feeling that we are overdue of another World War as I mentioned on the previous board. With the whole geo-political shift around the world. increase mistrust of local governments, a financial crisis, and so forth. These traits scream a large-scale war.
Any thoughts, opinions, and/or predictions?

Not soon, but perhaps at some not-too-distant-future....
Some historians are comparing China today to Wilhelmine Germany of the late 19th and early 20th century: exploding industrially, about to match or even lap the older great powers in economic and military clout. Tormented by a feeling that they aren't as respected as they ought to be in the world, nursing at the same time an inferiority complex and an overblown sense of self-confidence.
An explosive combination if a truly irresponsible leader takes the helm of that country.
It could be 1914 all over again, but with nukes.

War for me is a rather fascinating topic, and I could spend hours discussing the politics, strategies, tactics.
Here is my quick take on the subject. War is based upon supremacy, ideology, and power. From a supremacy standpoint, WWIII does not seem very close at all. If you would have asked me 15 years ago, I could more easily have been swayed by a USA vs. XXXX type of scenario.
Power is in the same realm for me as supremacy with only slight variations when looking to motivating factors for war.
Ideology is about the only avenue that I can foresee as a major contributing factor for this particular scenario. Extremism and Fundamentalism in any form can provide the catalyst to exalt a belief system above the basic humanistic element for security, well being, or survival.
If ideology is the primary factor, all parties involved would need to share, at the very least, the ability to be on the opposite extreme end of the spectrum. Complete disregard for human life and well being would have to take place amongst the mass of civilization. Currently I do not see that as the case.
As long as we have separate governments, capitalism, and freedom of religion I don't really see world war as a viable scenario.

Well Iran is about to have their Nukes real soon. Question: Since Obama only likes to appease and make niceypoo, will Israel step up to the plate and strike Iran before it has it's nukes?

We are already in World War III. It started back on June 5, 1968 when RFK was assassinated by a palestinian terrorist. It had continued with attacks and aggression on the part of the religion of peace, Islam, since that date, to include the U.S. embassy in Iran being seized, the Marine barracks in Lebanon being bombed, embassies in Africa being bombed, the USS Cole being attacked, and 9/11. In order to prevent further escalation of this conflict, obvious steps are necessary. 1) Secure U.S. borders 2) Deport all Muslims from the U.S. 3) Ban Islam in the U.S. 4) Remove U.S. troops from Western Europe (Lost cause, they have let Islam run rampant in a reverse crusade) 5)Remove U.S. Troops from Iraq and Afghanistan (Another lost cause). 6) Prosecute persons that give aid and comfort to ours enemies for treason: Sean Penn, Michael Moore, Dan Rather, Danny Glover, etc.
