I remember that more than once PETA has been called all kinds of bad things. Well, if you really think PETA is bad, then you better not go over to their site at this link: www.peta.org/feat/ChineseFurFarms/index.aspYeah, Chinese fur farms. Use your imagination a bit, but I am sure the truth is worse. Much worse. " When the fur is finally peeled off over the animals' heads, their naked, bloody bodies are thrown onto a pile of those who have gone before them. Some are still alive, breathing in ragged gasps and blinking slowly. Some of the animals' hearts are still beating five to 10 minutes after they are skinned. One investigator recorded a skinned raccoon dog on the heap of carcasses who had enough strength to lift his bloodied head and stare into the camera.
Before they are skinned alive, animals are pulled from their cages and thrown to the ground; workers bludgeon them with metal rods or slam them on hard surfaces, causing broken bones and convulsions but not always immediate death. Animals watch helplessly as workers make their way down the row." I HAD to stop watching the clip after 10 seconds. WARNINGDo not watch, unless you are really, REALLY, REALLY strong of heart. And do make sure no children see this... WARNINGJesus Christ...

I don't think Jesus has anything to do with that.

Horrible? Yes.
But, call me a skeptic, did anyone else notice a total lack of information on when the video was taken? Normally these "expose" videos have information about when it was taken, or even a time/date stamp.
Exactly how old is this video, and what authentication exists to show that this is taking place NOW, and things may be different then they were say, 10 years ago?
Look at how you phrased it, Whitestar. "...use your imagination. I'm sure the truth is worse." Why? Because it's Chinese? And everything that is said to be bad about China MUST be true?
And, in a country as controlled as China, how exactly did this video make it out, unaltered by the authorities?
Sorry, but my BS detector is going off something fierce. Yes, it shows something horrific, but the evidence that it is current, or even authentic to what is being claimed seems lacking, and given PETA's record with factual information, I doubt both aspects.

To me, this is quite typical. Don't like it? Then don't buy fur! Don't like how cows are treated? Then don't eat beef! Don't like how cows are treated? Then don't use leather! Take back your little Nike's, belts, automobiles, laptop bags/accessories, keychains, etc. BTW - Better gripe at the Indians as well and tell them how horrible they are too. They use animal skins. Since there is less hunting for meat now within the Indian Tribes, you better tell them to pay reparations to the deer that have died before them. Since we are attempting to go down this road, let's outlaw corn and really watch some fireworks!

I've never understood Vegans that wear leather belts, shoes, purses, etc.

I've never understood Vegans that wear leather belts, shoes, purses, etc. I completely agree, if someone wants to claim that they have conviction for their cause, then for crying out loud be aware if you are acting like a hypocrite! Like so many other liberals they pick and choose based upon circumstances and arguments that suit their present interests and ignore everything else. To me it reminds me of "Fair Trade." Fair Trade sure does benefit those that claim others do not obey. Coffee for instance is coming out of Africa in droves lately but, Columbia and India want to claim that they are not "Fair Trade." It is simply another side of the same coin. I want to know if PETA people drink milk, eat cheese, etc. For crying out loud, what if the rice they are eating was first plowed by an oxen? Does that make the rice tainted now as well? That poor oxen, slaving away for our "pleasure."
