Really, I didn't pay too much attention to the Olympics this time around.
Enough to know about the US Bobsled team's gold, the NHL all-start game (I mean gold medal round of hockey, the Canadian skater who won bronze skating while working through the grief of her mother's death, and the Luger who died in practice before the games even began.
But I did watch the closing ceremonies, and the part I'll remember most is Bob Costas' remarking about the "always enjoyable giant inflatable beaver".
Thank God for idiot sportscasters, and their ability to make us laugh when there is so little in the world that is genuinely funny (I mean, did you see Shatner, O'Hara, and Fox fall flat?).
